Don't forget, JC meeting tonight at Urban Forum, 70 Cowcross Street,
London.
Note earlier meeting time of 6.00 for 6.30.
Updtaed agenda attached.
Lucy
Further to the note earlier, this is where this conversation is now.
£250 for a stall + VAT and cost or two is £300-350
If we make a pound on a bag of 80 that's 10 boxes a day to break even.
I think paying for a stall would be risky, but its probably worth going and seeing what people are up to.

Pricing listed as cost price is NOT PROFIT but does include
- cost to buy from processors,

I don't know if any decision has been taken on this yet but for comparison we sold around that amount of tea at the Camden Green Fair which had around 15,000 people and the stall cost £35. Could have sold a bit more but not much.
I am not clear exactly how many people they expect to get - 3,000 stated but in an earlier email 26,000 on the database "who come year after year."
But let's go with the best possible scenario first of 26,000 potential buyers. That's nearly twice as many potential buyers as were at the Camden Green Fair.
Assume we sell at the same rate we would potentially sell 20 boxes, that's 10 boxes over break even price.
Assume we get £1 a bag of 40 (which seems to be about the price from the past) that's £10 per box and with ten boxes sold a profit if £100. If we get average £1.50 then profit £150
So we risk £300-350 for a £100 or better profit - roughly!
If the number who turn up if actually 3000 then it would be 1/5 of the Camden GF potential customers - a definate non starter I would think given the stall costs is so high.It seems a bit out or line with Fair Trade if little people like us can't get in on the act and get a low cost start.
My opinion is that it would be a good idea if JC people could check out the event this year, network with people on the stalls and have a few leaflets in their pockets if they happen to make a good connection.
Where are we with this now?
Also remember I have the display materials for the stall and am leaving for Australia on Wed so if needed please get on touch ASAP.

Lucy
I am at a lecture that evening at LSE, from 6.30 - 8pm. But I will try to leave a bit early and come for the last part of the meeting since it might be good to have an update from Marsh Farm. I'll circulate a note of a recent meeting with MF, before that, so you can see how things are progressing. Did anyone volunteer to take on secretarial duties? Louise and I discussed sharing it, but I can't at the moment and it feels like something one of the DftI-ers ought to do. Hope you don't feel lumbered!Sarah and I went to see Black Gold last weekend and knobbled Jon Snow at the end of the film. I've emailed him since and he wants to be kept in the loop, so that might come in handy. I also spoke to the film makers - but they are too rpeoccupied with their coffee campaign (understandably). There's a web site though where we could tell people about JC - they said they are getting thousands of responses to the film, so it might be worth doing. i'm not a great blogger - but will look when I get chance.............
Is UF 38 Cowcross St - I thought it was number 70.......that's what it says
on the web site as well?

Subject: Just Change Meeting
Dear all,
The next Just Change meeting will be next Wed, 29th Nov at 6.00 for a 6.30 start. The venue is the same- Urban Foum offices, at 38 Cowcross Street, in Farringdon. Unfortunately we won't be in the same luxurious room, but we are in the basement meeting room which will do the job equally well!
I will send out the agenda later tonight- please email items for the agenda to me as soon as possible.
Lucy
PS DFTI 2006ers- we have an email network with googlegroups. Please let me know whether you would like to be added to the group. All Just Change emails usually go through this group and it then enables you to email the whole group at once. Please also let me know if you don't want to receive any more Just Change emails at all.

We are upstairs in the management's rooftop penthouse, so it should be very swanky!
You should report to reception at 6.30pm and we'll be shown up. The meeting will be very informal, with a short DVD on JC, some tea to buy and lots of chat. Mari will hopefully be there too, as she is in London.
Look forward to seeing you all soon.
Please try to RSVP if you haven't already.
Love
Lucy
Hey guys,
Please be careful before sending an email to the justchange google groups
email as the email goes to everyone in the group. Also, if someone sends an
email to the group and you hit 'reply', the reply then goes to the whole
group. Please make sure that if waht you want to say is to one person only,
you start a new email just to them.
Thanks, this will save everyone from having clogged up inboxes!
